There’s something truly special about stepping aboard a brand-new Disney Cruise Line ship – and our recent sailing on the Disney Destiny did not disappoint. Pride Lands: A Dining Experience That Stole the Show
Hands down, Pride Lands was our favorite dining experience on the ship. While the food itself was excellent – easily some of the best we’ve had at sea – it was the entertainment that truly set this restaurant apart.
From the moment you walk in, you’re immersed in the world inspired by The Lion King. The performances throughout the meal were incredible, bringing energy, emotion, and Disney magic right to the table. It felt less like dinner and more like a live show paired with an outstanding meal. If you sail on the Disney Destiny, this is one dining rotation you’ll be talking about long after the cruise ends.
Artwork Around Every Corner
The artwork throughout the Disney Destiny deserves its own spotlight. The entire ship is absolutely stunning, but one of our favorite things to do was simply slow down and explore the art displayed in hallways, lounges, and public spaces.
Each piece feels intentional and story-driven, adding depth to the ship’s overall theme. Even better? Guests can purchase select pieces through the art gallery kiosks on board – such a fun way to bring a little Disney Cruise Line magic home with you.
Entertainment That Truly Impresses
Disney Cruise Line is known for entertainment, and the Disney Destiny raises the bar even higher. Of all the incredible options available, one standout for our family was “Sounds of Wakanda.”
The performance was powerful, engaging, and unlike anything we’ve experienced on previous sailings. It was especially memorable because our son was invited to participate – an experience he’s still talking about! Moments like these are what make Disney cruises so magical for families.
Kids & Teen Spaces: Fun for Every Age
One thing Disney Cruise Line does exceptionally well is creating spaces just for kids and teens—and the Disney Destiny is no exception. We made a point to attend several open houses so we could explore these areas together as a family.
Our son’s favorites included:
· Avengers Mission Training in Marvel Super Hero Academy, where young heroes can jump into action.
· Star Wars: Cargo Bay, where he had the chance to meet Chewbacca and Rey – a truly unforgettable moment. Our son joined the resistance and chose to be a pilot - just like Chewy!
These spaces are not only immersive and imaginative, but also thoughtfully designed so kids feel independent, excited, and completely at home.
